HRES1338119th Congress

Supporting the designation of June as Family Month.

Sponsored By: Representative Miller, Mary E. [R-IL-15]

Introduced

Summary

Re-centers the traditional nuclear family. This resolution would assert that a married mother and father form the best environment for children, that mothers and fathers play an irreplaceable role, and that the traditional nuclear family is the foundation of a healthy society. It cites falling marriage rates and a birth rate below replacement and says some tax and welfare rules encourage cohabitation over marriage. The text characterizes Pride Month as perverse and denigrating, directs the House to stop recognizing Pride Month, and supports designating June as "Family Month" to rededicate the Nation to traditional marriage and family values.
