Impeachment of Judge Eleanor Ross
This resolution would impeach Judge Eleanor Louise Ross of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia if the House adopts it. It alleges an undisclosed extramarital affair with Atlanta Police officer Kelley Collier from about October 2023 through October 2025, including intimate contact and, by Judge Ross' admission, sexual intercourse in her chambers during business hours. It alleges she attended a partisan campaign event hosted by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis the night before presiding over a criminal revocation hearing and told staff the next morning she had "too many martinis." It alleges she made numerous false statements and at first did not cooperate with an investigation. Key dates in the complaint process include notice to Judge Ross on September 29, 2025 (response requested by October 20, 2025), appointment of a special committee on September 30, 2025, and a recantation by Judge Ross on October 10, 2025. The articles cite the Code of Conduct for United States Judges and 18 U.S.C. 1001, and, if adopted, recommend removal from office for high crimes and misdemeanors.
