Recognizing the 112th Anniversary of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Honoring Delta Sigma Theta's 112th anniversary and its century of public service. Founded January 13, 1913 at Howard University by 22 college women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, non-profit organization with more than 350,000 predominantly African-American college-educated members and over 1,050 chapters worldwide. The resolution applauds the sorority's Five-Point Program Thrust—Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement—and cites programs like Financial Fortitude, the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, and humanitarian work such as the Mary Help of the Sick Mission Hospital in Thika, Kenya.
