- Survivors and families would get access to a wide range of records tied to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, including investigations, prosecutions, custodial matters, and documentation of detention or death.
- The public and researchers would receive flight logs, travel records, manifests, pilot records, customs or immigration documents, and lists of entities with alleged ties to Epstein’s trafficking or financial networks.
- The Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and U.S. Attorneys’ Offices would have to publish redaction justifications in the Federal Register and declassify to the maximum extent, with unclassified summaries required when classification blocks release.
- For accountability, any classification decisions after July 1, 2025 must be published with date, classifying authority, and an unclassified justification, and the Attorney General must report to House and Senate Judiciary Committees within 15 days after the release listing categories released and withheld, a redaction summary, and all government officials and politically exposed persons named or referenced without allowing redactions for those names under the act’s prohibited grounds on withholding.

More public access to Epstein records
This resolution would require the Attorney General to publish all unclassified DOJ records about Jeffrey Epstein and related people. The records would have to be searchable and downloadable and released within 30 days after enactment. Redactions would be allowed only for five narrow reasons. Those reasons include victim personal or medical data and child sexual abuse material. They also include information that would jeopardize an active investigation if narrowly tailored and temporary, images of death or injury, and properly classified national security material. The resolution would bar withholding for embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity. All redactions would need a written justification published in the Federal Register and sent to Congress. If classified material cannot be declassified, an unclassified summary must be published for each redaction. Any classifications after July 1, 2025 would have to be published with the date, who classified it, and an unclassified justification. Within 15 days after completing the release, the Attorney General would send a report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees listing categories released and withheld, summarizing redactions and legal bases, and naming all government officials and politically exposed persons found in the released materials.
