The Protection Bank Holding Company (Protection, Kansas) has applied to merge with Haviland Bancshares, Inc. and thereby indirectly acquire The Haviland State Bank in Haviland, Kansas. The Protection Bank Holding Company also says that, through acquiring Banco Insurance Agency (Haviland, Kansas), it will engage in insurance agency activity in small towns under Regulation Y section 225.28(b)(11)(iii)(A).
