The Council is seeking input for a project to develop a framework for disability clinical competency training for medical, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant programs, including questions about current training, challenges to adoption, and potential cost savings. You may submit comments, research, and data to help shape recommendations for provider training programs.

ADA Court Accommodations Under Review

The Council will examine ADA accommodations during court proceedings and is requesting information on topics like the existence of court ADA coordinators, training for judges, and grievance procedures. If you or someone you represent faces courtroom accommodation issues, you can provide comments and examples to NCD.

Younger People in Nursing Homes Study

NCD is conducting a project to identify numbers, demographics, data gaps, and policy drivers for people with disabilities ages 21–40 (and under 21) living in nursing homes and is asking for state-level data, information on waiting lists, and the effects of programs like Money Follows the Person. You can submit data and examples to help inform policy recommendations.

Hybrid Meeting with Accessibility Accommodations

The August 28–29, 2025 Council meeting will be in Washington, DC and streamed live via Zoom; ASL interpreters and CART will be provided and embedded in the Zoom stream. If you need other accommodations, you must notify Stacey Brown by email as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours before the meeting.
