ARMS and Chemical Use Surveys Continued

If you are a farmer, rancher, farm manager, farm contractor, or farm household, NASS intends to revise and extend the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) Phases 1 and 2 and the Chemical Use Surveys for a period of three years. About 118,000 respondents will be sampled annually, fewer than 20 percent will be contacted more than once per year, and the agency estimates an average respondent burden of about 8 minutes per response.

Legal Confidentiality for Survey Responses

If you provide answers to these surveys, NASS says individually identifiable data will be kept strictly confidential under section 1770 of the Food Security Act (7 U.S.C. 2276) and the Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act (CIPSEA) of 2018. NASS requires employees and contractors to comply with these confidentiality protections.

Stakeholders who want to comment on the proposed revision and extension can submit comments identified by docket number 0535-0218. Comments must be received by February 10, 2026 to be assured of consideration.
