Summary

Triton Power Company got the green light to keep running the Chateaugay High Falls Hydroelectric Project through 2026 while waiting for a new license. Annual License Issued for 2026

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an annual license to Triton Power Company for Project No. 5698 that is effective January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026, or until a new license or other disposition occurs. This authorizes Triton Power Company to operate the Chateaugay High Falls Hydroelectric Project during that period under the prior license terms and conditions.

Automatic Renewal After December 31, 2026

If a new license or other disposition is not issued on or before December 31, 2026, the annual license for Project No. 5698 is automatically renewed without further order or notice under 18 CFR 16.18(c). That automatic renewal continues the licensee's authorization to operate the project beyond December 31, 2026 unless the Commission orders otherwise.

Continuation Under Prior License If Not Subject to Section 15

If Project No. 5698 is not subject to section 15 of the Federal Power Act, Triton Power Company is authorized to continue operating the Chateaugay High Falls Hydroelectric Project under the terms and conditions of the prior license until a subsequent license is issued or other disposition occurs under the FPA. This continuation may apply when the licensee has filed an application for a subsequent license as described in 18 CFR 16.21(a) or when other regulatory steps apply under 18 CFR 16.21(b).
