FY2026 TIG Funding Amount Announced

The Legal Services Corporation will make $4,750,000 available for Technology Initiative Grants (TIGs) in FY2026. LSC will make award decisions by early Fall 2026.

TIP Grants Funding Limits and New Intake Track

Technology Improvement Project (TIP) grants have a maximum award of $35,000. A new Intake TIP two-phase track allows Phase 1 Business Process Assessment funding up to $35,000 and Phase 2 Implementation funding so total funding for both phases is capped at $100,000, with Phase 2 contingent on LSC approval.

New Planning Grants Offer up to $75,000

The new TIG Planning Grant Phase 1 will fund planning activities for innovative technology projects for up to $75,000 and a Phase 1 term of six or 12 months. After completing Phase 1, grantees may request Phase 2 implementation funds, but Phase 2 funding is not guaranteed.

Funds Target Technology That Expands Legal Access

TIG funds are for projects that use technology to increase the quantity and quality of legal assistance for low-income people, including technology assessments, usability/UX research, system performance audits, digital accessibility evaluations, and intake improvements.

Strict Eligibility for Applicants

Only current LSC grantees that hold Basic Field-General, Basic Field-Migrant, or Basic Field-Native American grants and that meet reporting and performance conditions may apply. Applicants also must receive basic field funding of at least a one-year term and must not have had a previous TIG terminated for reporting or performance issues in the past three years.

Deadlines, Pre-Application Rules, and One-TIP Limit

Pre-applications for General TIG and SEA grants are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 10, 2026. TIP applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on May 22, 2026.
