Service Is Unpaid; You Pay Expenses

If you are appointed to the committee, you will serve a 2-year term and will receive no compensation for participation. All meetings are virtual, but members are responsible for their travel, living, and other personal expenses when participating in NACTTI events.

Limited Seats and 2-Year Terms

The committee will have no more than 15 members, each appointed by the Secretary of Transportation for a 2-year term. Meetings will be held regularly and, to the extent practical, at least once a year.

Who Is Eligible and Priority Applicants

Membership is open to public and private travel and tourism stakeholders, including State tourism offices, departments of transportation, metropolitan planning organizations, local governments, and travel- and tourism-related businesses and organizations. Priority may be given to a Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, or President (or comparable level) of a U.S. company, organization, or entity in the travel, tourism, or transportation sectors.

How To Apply and Deadline

You can self-nominate or be nominated by others by submitting specified materials (name and contact, a letter of support on letterhead, a one-page biography, and an affirmative eligibility statement). Nominations and materials must be received on or before April 1, 2026, and materials submitted should total 2 pages or less.
