TSA to Monitor Real-Time Checkpoint Lines

You may experience better-managed airport security lines because TSA will collect real-time wait-time data from airport operators to monitor checkpoint conditions and quickly mitigate high wait-times. TSA will ingest and store data in 60-second intervals to inform staffing and improve the passenger experience.

Voluntary Airport Reporting Burden

If you operate an airport, TSA requests voluntary submission of aggregated real-time wait-time data under Memoranda of Agreement. TSA estimates 450 airport operators will provide the information, with an average annual burden of 0.7305 hours per operator and a total annual burden of 328.725 hours.

Aggregated Data Collection, No PII

The data TSA will collect are aggregated wait-time figures across screening lane types (for example, PreCheck, Standard, Blended) and are collected electronically at 60-second intervals. TSA states the collection will not contain any personally identifiable information.
