Appointment Terms and Disclosure Requirement

Selected committee members are Special Government Employees who may be invited to serve up to four-year terms, must file financial disclosure reports at the beginning and annually during their terms, and HHS plans to notify selected candidates near the start of the term in December 2026; CDC will retain nominations for up to two years to create a pool for future vacancies.

Survivors Under 45 And Caregivers Eligible

People with personal experience of early-onset breast cancer, including breast cancer survivors 45 years of age and younger and caregivers of those persons, are explicitly eligible to be nominated for the committee.

Federal Employees Not Eligible; U.S. Citizens Required

Nominees must be U.S. citizens and Federal employees will not be considered for membership; nominees cannot be full-time employees of the U.S. Government.
