Beginning May 1, 2025, two Alaska patriotic organizations with club licenses can agree to sell alcohol to each other's members. A majority of members present at a general meeting of each organization must approve the agreement. This expands purchasing access for participating members, not the general public.
Beginning May 1, 2025, Alaska theater license holders can sell or serve alcohol only in designated licensed areas. The sales window begins two hours before an event and ends one hour after it, including intermissions.
Beginning May 1, 2025, people under 21 can use specified licensed theater areas for licensee-provided travel, lodging, or outdoor recreation. Those under 16 need parent or guardian consent and an escort age 21 or older. People under 21 also gain access to areas covered by a large resort endorsement for those purposes. At resorts, those under 16 need parent or guardian consent. Resort access excludes areas under the original bar or tourism license where alcohol is being served.
Beginning May 1, 2025, workers ages 18–20 can sell, serve, deliver, or dispense alcohol at listed Alaska licensed businesses. These include manufacturers, wholesalers, hotels, resorts, golf courses, transportation services, outdoor recreation lodges, alcohol retailers, and certain restaurants. This permission does not cover businesses offering adult entertainment. At restaurant-licensed premises, employers must supervise workers ages 16–17 to keep them from obtaining alcoholic drinks.
Beginning August 1, 2025, covered Alaska license and permit holders must post conspicuous warning signs, including at entry doors. Signs must measure at least 11 by 14 inches, with contrasting letters at least one-half inch high. Health warnings explain that drinking during pregnancy can cause birth defects and alcohol can cause cancer, including breast and colon cancers. Other warnings state that providing alcohol to people under 21 carries up to five years in prison and $50,000 in fines. Signs also warn of civil damages up to $1,500 for unaccompanied under-21 entry onto certain licensed premises.
