Arkansas Treasurer’s Staff Qualify for Pay Raises

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, Treasurer’s office employees qualify for July 1 cost-of-living raises. These raises match those granted to other state agency and higher-education employees. The Treasurer may also approve other pay adjustments or a merit-pay program. With prior Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee approval, pay may exceed legal maximums by up to 20%. That authority covers no more than one-fourth of authorized positions; the law does not set any individual employee’s raise.

Arkansas Treasurer’s Office Gets Operating Funds

For July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law provides about $7.97 million from the State Central Services Fund. The Treasurer’s office may employ up to 33 regular workers and five temporary or part-time workers. Temporary workers’ pay must follow state job-classification limits. Funding includes about $3.22 million for regular salaries, $40,000 for temporary help, and $1.07 million for related employer costs. Office expenses receive about $1.40 million; travel and professional fees each receive $35,000, and equipment receives $25,000. Data processing receives $1.8 million, and preparedness, security, and safety receive $275,000. Another $75,000 supports financial education and the Arkansas 529 College Savings and ABLE programs, not direct household payments. The Treasurer may move money between operating budget lines with Chief Fiscal Officer approval and prior Legislative Council or Joint Budget Committee review. Spending remains limited to available funds and must follow state spending and purchasing laws.
