Little Rock university gets operating funds

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the law authorizes about $72.52 million from the university's state fund. This covers regular pay, employer benefit costs, and operating costs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. It also authorizes about $162.30 million from university cash funds for staff, operations, travel, professional services, and related costs. Cash funding includes $30 million for building improvements, about $14.09 million for equipment and other capital purchases, and $12 million for debt payments. Spending cannot exceed authorized amounts or available funds, and must follow state purchasing, budgeting, payroll, and fiscal-control laws. Spending must also follow the purposes recorded in budget materials and legislative records. These funds support the university, not direct household payments.

Bowen law school gets expense funding

The law authorizes $800,000 for William H. Bowen School of Law expenses at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The funding covers July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The money comes from special revenues generated by additional uniform circuit-court filing fees authorized under existing state law. It supports law school expenses, not direct household payments.

Little Rock nanotechnology research gets funding

The law authorizes $2 million from the university's state fund for its Nanotechnology Center. The funding covers July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. It pays for staff, operating costs, research, and technology development. It does not create a direct household payment.

Little Rock university sets staffing limits

From July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, the university can employ up to 1,988 regular workers. The law sets maximum yearly pay for listed leadership, teaching, administrative, technical, athletics, and support jobs. Examples include $399,144 for the chancellor and $277,092 for the provost; these are ceilings, not guaranteed salaries. The university can also hire up to 1,300 temporary or part-time extra-help workers when needed. Extra-help pay must come from extra-help funds and cannot exceed applicable state classification rates or rates in this law.
