The law sets aside about $6.58 million for the Arkansas Court of Appeals from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. The money comes from the State Central Services Fund. The court can have up to 49 regular employees and two temporary or part-time workers when needed. Temporary workers must be paid from extra-help funds, within the pay limits set by law for their jobs. Funding includes about $4.33 million for regular salaries, $25,000 for extra help, and $1.38 million for matching personnel costs. It also includes $276,129 for operating expenses, $80,900 for conferences and travel, and $50,000 for equipment purchases. Legal counsel gets $360,000, special judges get $17,044, and mileage reimbursement gets $60,000; professional fees and data processing receive no funding. Spending cannot exceed the approved budget or legally available funds, and must follow state financial and purchasing rules. The money must also serve the purposes stated in the budget materials supporting the law. This supports court operations, not direct household payments.
