From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law funds Arkansas’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission. It provides $383,978 from state agency funds: $245,831 for regular salaries, $88,147 for payroll matching, and $50,000 for operations. It also provides $91,123 from a Treasury cash fund designated by the state’s Chief Fiscal Officer. That covers $15,900 for temporary workers, $1,299 for payroll matching, $67,924 for operations, $2,000 for travel, and $4,000 for professional fees. The commission can have four regular employees: an executive director, a fiscal support supervisor, and two administrative specialists. It can also use up to four temporary or part-time workers as needed, within legal pay limits. Spending must follow state purchasing, budgeting, revenue, salary, and other fiscal rules, related implementation regulations, and the stated budget purposes. This funding supports commission operations; it does not provide direct household payments.
