More fertility options at Arkansas health clinics

Arkansas facilities funded by Title X must include fertility awareness methods in family planning and reproductive health services. They must use some existing Title X funds to provide these methods. The Health Department must help integrate them within 12 months after the section takes effect, providing guidance, training, and patient materials. As state or federal funding authorizes, the department must add fertility awareness information to family planning, maternal and child health, and women’s health programs. It must also update health education materials with information about restorative reproductive medicine, which addresses underlying reproductive health problems.

Providers protected when refusing assisted fertility care

People and organizations receiving Arkansas state financial assistance or local government aid cannot punish, retaliate against, or discriminate against healthcare providers for protected refusals. This protection covers refusing to participate in or help provide assisted reproductive technology because of sincerely held religious beliefs or moral convictions.
