Arkansas's Department of Human Services must create a shorter independent assessment process, including a desk review, for home- and community-based services. It covers Medicaid recipients with chronic, long-term conditions who were previously approved for these services through an independent assessment. They must also receive services through enrollment in a risk-based provider organization. The department must apply for any needed federal waiver, Medicaid state plan amendment, or other approval.
