More inspection choices for Arkansas modular manufacturers

Manufacturers certified to do business in Arkansas have more options for independent inspections of modular or factory-built structures delivered in Arkansas. Inspection agencies must be listed with International Accreditation Service, Inc., or accredited by another body that meets ISO/IEC 17011. Inspections check compliance with the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code and applicable state and municipal electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes. This option excludes manufactured housing regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The emergency clause made the law effective upon the Governor’s approval, expiration of the veto period without action, or the last house’s vote overriding a veto.
