The Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System can collect benefit overpayments by taking money from state tax refunds. This covers overpaid monthly benefits or lump sums from state retirement systems it administers. The Arkansas Judicial Retirement System and State Police Retirement System also gain authority to collect debts through state tax refunds. People owing these debts can receive smaller state tax refunds.
