Ozarka College gets payroll and campus funding

For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law authorizes about $20.18 million in Ozarka College spending. About $4.68 million comes from the Ozarka College Fund, and $15.501 million comes from college cash funds. State funding includes $3.4 million for regular salaries, $50,000 for Extra Help, and $1 million for employer benefit-related costs. It also includes $5,159 for operating costs and $222,758 for unexpected needs. Cash funding includes $4.5 million for regular salaries, $300,000 for Extra Help, and $1,000 for overtime. Another $3 million covers employer benefit-related costs, and $5 million covers operating costs. Cash funding also provides $100,000 for conferences and travel, $200,000 for professional fees, and $50,000 for promotional items. It allows $600,000 for capital purchases, $1 million for building improvements, and $750,000 for debt payments. Spending cannot exceed these limits or available funds. The college must follow state purchasing, accounting, budget, salary, and higher education spending rules and state finance department regulations. Spending must also match the purposes explained in budget materials and testimony. This funding supports college pay and services; it does not directly change tuition, fees, or taxes.

Ozarka College sets staffing and pay limits

From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, Ozarka College can employ up to 220 regular employees. The law lists allowed positions and their maximum yearly pay. The college can also hire up to 100 temporary or part-time Extra Help workers when needed. Extra Help pay cannot exceed rates allowed by the Uniform Classification and Compensation Act or this law. These workers must be paid from Extra Help funds; the law does not guarantee jobs or pay raises.
