For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law funds Southern Arkansas University and its university system. The university gets about $20.69 million from the Southern Arkansas University Fund: about $17.63 million for regular salaries, $2.02 million for related employee costs, $60,000 for operations, and $985,303 for contingency needs. It also gets about $55.73 million in cash-fund spending authority for salaries, temporary workers, operations, building improvements, debt payments, transfers, refunds, and investments. The system separately gets $100,000 from the university fund: $45,000 for salaries, $13,500 for related employee costs, and $41,500 for operations. Spending cannot exceed these appropriations or legally available funds; this funds the institutions, not direct household payments.
From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, Southern Arkansas University can employ up to 529 regular workers. The law sets maximum annual pay rates for listed jobs, not guaranteed employee salaries. The university can also employ up to 1,900 temporary or part-time Extra Help workers when needed. Their pay must come from Extra Help appropriations and stay within the applicable job-class pay limits under state law. These staffing authorizations do not guarantee anyone a job.
