Public transit workers gain access to pensions
The law lets public transit authorities formed under Arkansas's Public Transit System Act join the Arkansas Public Employees' Retirement System. An authority's board of directors must approve participation by majority vote. Employees of participating authorities can then become members of the retirement system. The law does not specify benefit amounts or a start date.
