New travel reimbursement approvers for state workers

For official Arkansas state business trips, meal and lodging reimbursements follow maximum rates in the federal Travel Directory. Above-limit payments need special approval from the department, board, or commission responsible for the travel. Its cabinet-level secretary, director, chief executive officer, or chief fiscal officer can grant approval. These officials replace the State Chief Fiscal Officer in this role. The law does not raise the limits or guarantee approval.
