Arkansas candidates face new campaign reporting deadlines

Arkansas state and district candidates must report campaign contributions and spending monthly, starting in January of potential ballot years. Monthly reports are due 20 days after each month ends. No separate monthly report is due for a month covered by a required preelection or final report. Days after a primary or runoff election go in the next monthly report. For special elections, monthly reporting starts in the month total campaign contributions or spending exceed $500. Final reports are due 20 days after the end of the month following a primary, runoff, general, or special election. That deadline also applies when only one candidate qualifies for an office, even without appearing on a ballot. Final reports cover previously unreported contributions and spending for that election through the month following the election month.
