Arkansas board appointments follow current district maps

Four Arkansas boards now use congressional district boundaries in effect when each member is appointed, rather than older maps. The Economic Development Council must include at least three members from each of the four districts. The Rural Development Commission must include one member from each district, and each must live in that district’s rural area. The Governor must appoint one Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board member from each district. The Motor Vehicle Commission keeps one member per district and five statewide members, including its consumer and elderly representatives.
