The law sets aside an extra $25 million for county property tax relief in fiscal year 2024–2025. Arkansas’s Treasurer distributes the money from the Property Tax Relief Trust Fund. This adds to, rather than replaces, funding in Section 7 of Act 140 of 2024. The law does not set county shares, household eligibility, or a relief amount for each household. Payments are limited to authorized funding and must follow state purchasing, accounting, budget, revenue, and salary laws and finance department rules. Spending must also match the purposes documented in the budget and legislative records. The emergency clause makes the law effective upon passage and approval, expiration of the Governor’s veto period, or final veto override.
