Arkansas County combines treasurer and tax collector
Beginning January 1, 2027, Arkansas County combines its treasurer and tax collector offices. County voters elect one person for both roles in the 2026 general election; that person takes office January 1, 2027. The officer must provide a bond to guarantee faithful performance of duties, as required by law. The Arkansas County Quorum Court sets pay within the minimum and maximum amounts set by the state legislature. The combined office hires deputies and receives other allowances as set by the quorum court.
