Arkansas’s Department of Education cannot assign new public-school ratings under the current system for 2023-2024. It must create a new system and give every public school, including open-enrollment public charter schools, a letter grade for 2024-2025. Schools can request a review if they fail to improve or maintain their most recent grade under the new system. The Division of Public School Accountability must review all applicable data and information and decide the school’s grade. These temporary provisions expire June 30, 2026.
