Eligible Arkansas school employees get new protections at schools that offer maternity leave. These rules cover public school districts, open-enrollment public charter schools, and private schools. Holidays and other school-designated days without classes during the contract year do not count against approved maternity leave days. An approved maternity leave day on an unpaid day under your current contract qualifies for paid leave. Schools are not required to offer maternity leave.
