Arkansas counties get new board membership rules
Each Arkansas county's quorum court must establish its county depository board by ordinance, a local law. Members include the county judge, treasurer, and collector, or the sheriff when serving as tax collector. Officials performing those duties serve when elected offices change under Arkansas Constitution Amendment 55. When the treasurer and collector offices are combined by law, the quorum court must select a third board member by ordinance. That member must be another elected county constitutional officer. The law does not create new funding, fees, or direct household benefits or costs.
