Arkansas counties dedicate passport fees to operations

Arkansas county offices recognized by the U.S. State Department as passport acceptance facilities must collect application and execution or acceptance fees. They must also collect reasonable fees for photos, mailing, and faster processing as federal rules permit on January 1, 2025. Fees not sent directly to the U.S. State Department or U.S. Postal Service go into a county passport acceptance facility fund. The county quorum court must approve spending from this fund, and the money must support the passport facility's operations. The law does not set fee amounts or create a new fee schedule.
