Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Deadline limits National Board teacher bonuses

Teachers seeking Arkansas’s National Board certification incentive funds must have met the program’s requirements by July 1, 2025. Anyone who missed that deadline is not eligible for these funds. This provision does not state a payment amount.

Teachers get ratings when evaluations are skipped

Arkansas public schools must give an overall performance result across all areas in a teacher’s full, or summative, evaluation. Results can be written or digital. When a school skips that evaluation, it must give a year-end rating meeting Merit Teacher Incentive Fund requirements. This rating can be formative or summative, uses observations, and includes framework components reported in the state-approved evaluation system. Having a rating does not guarantee incentive money.
