Arkansas suspended sentences require warrantless search consent

Arkansas adds suspended imposition of sentence to its required search-waiver rules. People entering or continuing that status, supervised probation, parole, or post-release supervision must acknowledge and sign the waiver. Those who refuse are ineligible for these options. Certified law enforcement officers or Division of Community Corrections officers can request warrantless searches at any time, day or night. Searches can cover the person, home, vehicle, electronic devices, and other property they possess or control, including home garages and outbuildings. Searches must be reasonable but need no specific grounds to suspect criminal activity.
