Beginning January 1, 2027, Perry County, Arkansas, has separate sheriff and tax collector offices. Voters elect both officers in the 2026 general election, and both take office on January 1, 2027. Each officer must provide a bond to guarantee faithful performance of duties, as required by law. The Perry County Quorum Court sets each officer’s pay within minimum and maximum limits set by the state legislature. It also sets rules for hiring deputies and receiving other allowances.
