Through June 30, 2026, the law authorizes two Fire Training Academy budgets: $2.043592 million and $3.045637 million. Both come from the Southern Arkansas University Tech Fund and cover staff and operating costs, not direct household payments. For fiscal year 2025–2026, the academy can hire up to 55 temporary or part-time workers when needed. Their pay cannot exceed their job classification's rate under the Uniform Classification and Compensation Act or this law. The academy does not have to fill all 55 positions.
For fiscal year 2025–2026, Southern Arkansas University Tech gets $6.144362 million in state spending authority and $13.868 million in cash-fund spending authority. This covers staff and operations, including environmental training and solid waste programs, rather than direct household payments. The cash budget includes $2 million for building improvements, $1.3 million for capital purchases, and $375,000 for debt payments. The college can employ up to 333 regular workers and 175 temporary or part-time workers; hiring is not guaranteed. Listed jobs have salary ceilings, including $208,138 for the Chancellor, and temporary workers cannot exceed applicable legal pay limits.
