Funding for Arkansas Ethics Commission operations

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law provides about $1.16 million for Arkansas Ethics Commission operations through June 30, 2027. State funding covers $777,991 in salaries, $265,824 in related employee costs, $110,910 in operating costs, and $3,000 for conferences and travel. No money is allocated for professional fees, capital purchases, or data processing. Staffing is capped at 11 regular employees: one director, four attorneys, three investigators, and three support staff. The support positions cover administration, fiscal support, and user support. Spending cannot exceed the appropriation or legally available funds and must follow state purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and salary rules. Money must serve the purposes documented in official budget materials and legislative records. This funding supports ethics oversight, not direct household payments.
