Funding supports Monticello university staff and campuses

For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law funds University of Arkansas at Monticello staff and operations. The main campus gets about $15.2 million in state funding and $27.581 million in cash-fund spending authority. McGehee gets about $2.51 million in state funding and $940,150 in cash-fund authority; Crossett gets about $1.87 million and $1.004 million, respectively. The Center for Forest Business gets $832,001 in state funding. The money covers wages, temporary help, employer benefit contributions, and operating costs, including overtime and professional fees where listed. Main-campus cash funds also include $7 million for capital purchases, $2.5 million for capital improvements, and $50,000 for debt payments. Spending must follow state finance, purchasing, and higher-education spending laws; this funding does not create direct household payments.

Monticello university jobs have staffing and pay limits

From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the university can have up to 632 regular, full-time employees. It can also use up to 790 temporary or part-time workers at Monticello, 36 at McGehee, and 36 at Crossett. The law sets maximum pay by job, including faculty, administrators, support staff, public safety, athletics, and added workforce-education positions. Examples include $290,076 for the chancellor, $149,687 for a nine-month professor, and $71,305 for a public safety officer. Temporary workers are paid from appropriated funds, and their pay cannot exceed rates allowed by state classification law or this act.
