For July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, the law provides $79.022197 million for Arkansas State University operations. This includes $57.5 million for regular salaries, $134,000 for temporary workers, and $9.15 million for benefits and employer taxes. It also provides $7.203094 million for operating costs, $570,000 for capital purchases, $1 million for depreciation, and $3.465103 million for contingency funds. Within this total, Jonesboro gets $72.767154 million, System Administration gets $3.325358 million, Heritage Sites get $2.476122 million, and the Delta Center for Economic Development gets $453,563. This money supports university operations and payroll, rather than direct payments to households.
From July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, Arkansas State University can employ up to 2,270 regular workers. It can also hire up to 2,064 temporary or part-time workers when needed, using funds set aside for extra help. The law sets annual salary ceilings by job, including $435,855 for the system president and $197,881 for a professor. Temporary workers' pay cannot exceed the applicable rate under state classification rules, their successor, or this law. These are hiring and pay limits, not promises of jobs or pay raises.
