Northwest Technical Institute keeps project funding

Beginning July 1, 2025, the law renews Northwest Technical Institute's authority to spend unspent Development and Enhancement Fund balances. The total is about $1.55 million, not a direct household payment. Three separate funding amounts—up to $1 million, $499,039, and $11,362—support construction, renovation, major maintenance, equipment, and facility improvements. Another $36,307 maximum supports Industrial Technology Center construction, parking, equipment, and furnishings. Contracts and obligations cannot exceed project funds actually available in the State Treasury. Grants, donations, federal funds, and available cash not already committed can supplement state funding. The institute cannot use its regular maintenance and operating funds for these projects. Spending must follow state purchasing and fiscal laws unless expressly exempted by law. Funds must serve the stated purposes documented in official budget materials and related records.
