Beginning July 1, 2025, Arkansas renews authority to use up to $69,563 left from a prior Department of Agriculture appropriation. The money comes from the Livestock and Poultry Special Revenue Fund. It pays for construction, renovation, and equipment for the diagnostic laboratory's necropsy room, where dead animals are examined. The department and related agencies can supplement this funding with grants, donations, federal funds, and uncommitted cash income or funds. They cannot commit more money than is available or use Maintenance and General Operations funds for this project. Spending must follow applicable state purchasing and budget laws, unless another law expressly provides otherwise, and the act's stated purposes. This supports laboratory improvements, not direct household payments.
