Beginning April 1, 2025, the law adds one circuit judgeship in Arkansas’s Nineteenth Judicial District-West. The judge hears law, equity, probate, and juvenile matters. Qualified district voters fill the vacancy at the 2026 nonpartisan judicial general election. The elected judge takes office January 1, 2027, and serves six-year terms. The judge must meet standard circuit judge qualifications and receives the salary, expenses, and allowances set by law. The county must provide courtroom and office space and supplies, using its treasury and funds approved by the quorum court. The judgeship also gets a court reporter and trial court administrator, with salaries set and paid under existing law. The law gives no dollar amounts for these costs.
