After a defendant defaults on court fines, fees, or costs—including an installment—the debt can be collected like a civil money judgment. Courts can also act on their own to intercept the defendant’s Arkansas state income tax return. They must follow the procedures used to collect unpaid restitution. Payment judgments create liens, or legal claims, on defendants’ real estate and personal property, just like civil money judgments.
