Arkansas voters get new polling location rules

The county clerk’s designated early voting site must be within the county seat. The clerk must receive a suitable room there, at the courthouse or another site, for absentee and early voting duties. For qualified voters, early voting at the clerk’s site starts 15 days before a preferential primary or general election. Hours are 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Friday and 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday. Early voting ends at 5 p.m. on the Monday before Election Day. Polling sites must match the last general election unless the county election board orders a change. School elections and additional early voting sites are exempt from that rule. For each election, the board must unanimously choose any additional early voting sites.
