Arkansas removes a specific legal route to overturn a court ruling confirming land ownership, called a quiet-title decree. The old law allowed challenges within three years with a valid legal defense. Minors and people with mental illness or intellectual disabilities had three years after the disability ended to challenge the ruling. That extra time also covered people claiming land rights through them. Removing this route gives confirmed owners more certainty but limits options for people challenging ownership.
