New testing rules for medical marijuana products

Arkansas requires processed medical marijuana products to be tested after processing is complete, in finished form ready for packaging. This covers marijuana changed for human use through extraction, concentration, encapsulation, chemical changes, or other processing. Covered forms include edibles, oils, tinctures, topicals, and inhalable products. Tests must follow Department of Health rules and check pesticides, heavy metals, germs, leftover solvents, and THC and CBD levels. These processed products are exempt from bans on marijuana paraphernalia. The law does not approve or ban specific product types, including prerolls, blunts, or other ready-made inhalable products.
