Arkansas school standards add fetal development lessons
Arkansas’s education department must add fetal growth and development lessons to relevant school standards during the academic standards revision cycle. It chooses the grade levels in consultation with the state health department. Lessons can be oral, written, or digital. They must include a high-definition ultrasound showing the brain, heart, sex organs, and other vital organs in early fetal development. They must cover fertilization and every stage of development in the womb, including major cell-growth and organ-development markers through birth.
