Arkansas voter helpers face new identification rules

In Arkansas, a voter with a disability must choose someone present at the polling site to help at the voting machine. The helper must be at least 18 and show a document or identification card that meets state election board requirements. The State Board of Election Commissioners must issue rules setting those identification requirements. Poll workers must create and maintain a list of everyone helping voters at the polling site. Each helper’s recorded name must match the document or identification card they present.
