Public access to Arkansas classroom materials

You can request classroom learning materials used or kept by Arkansas public schools and districts through the public-records process. This covers materials in any format, but excludes tests and other student assessments. Schools cannot use copyright claims or private agreements to block access, or require nondisclosure agreements or waivers. Copying must follow federal fair-use limits as of January 1, 2025. Digital materials, including subscription services, must be available for public inspection. When copying digital materials is impractical, schools must allow inspection during normal business hours. Purchased, leased, or licensed software itself is not a public record.
